NIDE Standard

12. 03. 2025

#DidYouKnow Spain is one of the countries represented on the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), whose Management Center defines the conditions of the NIDE standard (regulations on sports and recreational facilities).

This guideline addresses, among others, the following points to determine the ideal lighting conditions for spaces intended for sports activities:

🔹 Balance between lighting and glare
🔹 User profiles
🔹 Other technical needs, such as those arising from broadcasts

🌍 International Clean Energy Day 🌱

Today we remember that adopting clean energy sources is not only a responsibility, but also a great opportunity to build a healthier and more sustainable future for our communities. 💡 ✨

At Moonoff, we are committed to this transition: 50% of the energy we use in our facilities comes from renewable sources, thanks to the implementation of solar panels. ☀ Additionally, we are constantly working to reduce our dependence on the electrical grid through energy efficiency initiatives and workplace savings measures.

We believe in a future where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand. 🌟

Remote management systems

22. 01. 2025

Remote management systems allow integration with other monitoring solutions, such as traffic meters, air quality meters, and more.

These measures make it easier for cities to become , as they introduce connected infrastructures that are more efficient in a multitude of areas and adapted to the particular needs of each city.

Some of the advantages of these integrations are:
🔹 Energy efficiency
🔹 Reduction of operating costs
🔹 Connectivity

Citizen Security

15. 01. 2025

We know that a well-lit street reduces risks, improves visibility, and increases the feeling of safety for pedestrians, both at night and in adverse weather conditions.

However, appropriate lighting design is also an essential factor for the development of communities, as it turns public spaces into something more than just places of transit; they are environments for coexistence, meeting points.

Improving access to efficient solutions, such as LED lighting or smart systems connected to renewable energy, makes it easier for the safety, mobility and habitability of public spaces to not depend exclusively on conventional infrastructure. This boost to social well-being allows us to move forward in line with the #SDGs , especially with number 7 affordable and non-polluting energy , and 11 sustainable cities and communities .

✨ We work to offer technology that not only illuminates, but also protects.

Glare on roads

08. 01. 2025

The sensation of #glare is one of the main factors to consider when planning an outdoor lighting system. It is produced by bright areas within the field of vision, or by their reflection on specular surfaces (veil reflections or reflected glare).

It affects drivers’ #visibility, causing fatigue, errors and even accidents. For this reason, our designs are based on the calculations and limits detailed in Royal Decree 1890/2008, a regulation that unifies criteria and ensures the safety and efficiency of these installations on public roads.

With our luminaires, we ensure that light always brings #security.

Road Lighting

16. 12. 2024

When we design lighting systems for roads, we do so in such a way that the different luminaires compensate for the 2/3 efficiency in binocular vision that is lost due to the absence of natural light.

🌙 Driving at night or in low light conditions reduces visual capacity and considerably increases the risk of accidents, since darkness alters visual factors that are so necessary for driving, such as visual acuity, field of vision, perception of distances, and even tolerance to glare.

Outdoor lighting installations comply with criteria studied for reasons of safety and comfort. With our lighting we help make the road safer, thereby saving lives.

Sports facilities

04. 12. 2024

The regulations applicable to lighting in sports facilities in Spain define the regulatory and design conditions to be considered when designing their lighting network, and are called NIDE (regulations on sports and leisure facilities).

In turn, Spain is one of the countries represented in the CEN, whose Management Centre defines the conditions under which the European standard must be adopted, without modification, as a national standard.

In both cases, the documents only consider artificial lighting, with the intention of collecting recommendations and requirements that guarantee that sports facilities have good visual conditions for athletes, referees and spectators, as well as for possible broadcasts by TV cameras.

As with any outdoor lighting installation, it is a matter of finding the balance for maximum visibility without causing glare, which is comfortable for different user profiles and limits disturbing light.
